given in by Mr Budd and
annexed to the Commission.

Richard Belchamber at the present
of the parish of Saint Thomas the Apostle
London, and shortly being to goe to Southampton
to dwell merchant, aged 32 yeares or thereabouts
sworne and examined.
To the first article of the first allegation hee saith and deposeth that
the Commissioners for dutch prize goods residing here at London
gave this deponent their deputie at Portsmouth order to deliver the
tobaccoes in question to the use of the arlate Wainewright and Jefferies
about or shortly after the 4th of November 1652,
and therefore hee beleeveth that the sale thereof was made to them
by the said Commissioners on or about the day arlate, And otherwise
hee cannot depose.
To the second article hee saith and deposeth that hee verily beleeveth
there was noe more paid or payable for the customes of such tobaccoes
(as those in question were) the time arlate than 1 d per pound, nor
did hee ever knowe more paid for such tobaccoes. And otherwise
hee cannot depose

pound was at Portsmouth sdatisfied of this deponents knowledge hee
