Biographical synthesis
Nicholas Goldsbrough (alt. Goldsborow) (b. ca. 1613; d. ?). Mariner.
Gunner of the ship the Jonas (Master: Nathaniel Hutchinson).
"Being gunner of the said shipp and present at the said lading and delivery, and at the said contract for freight and a witnesse thereunto".[1]
Resident in 1656 in Wapping.
Evidence from High Court of Admiralty
Forty-three year old Nicholas Goldsbrough deposed on June 25th 1656 in the High Court of Admiralty.[2] He was examined on an allegation on behalf of ffrancis Ash and others in the case of "Ash and others against Drinkewater".[3]
The case involved a dispute over payment of freight for a lading of herrings taken aboard at Dublin and consigned to William Drinkewater in London.[4]
