Serjeants-at-law
Academic interest in the order of Serjeants-at-law has been mixed. In the mid and later C19th, as Queens Counsel overwhelmed the older order of Serjeants-at-law, several contemporary holders of that title wrote histories of the order. Notable examples are those of H.W. XXXXX and Alexander Pulling.
