Alexander Hosea was London merchant, who was born in Wiltshire. He described himself in his will as a "citizen and weaver of London."

ITEM therefore And whereas I have given to my couzen Joseph Collins severall houses and Tenements as by this my said last Will doth more fully appeare Now my expresse will mind and meaneing is that hee the said Joseph Collins shall not have receive occupie enioy or possesse the said Houses and Tenements or any part or parcell of the said houses and tenements nor receive any profitt or advantage which may arise from them or any part or parcell of them the said houses and tenements untill hee hath paid int o my Executors or Executor the survivor or surviors of them or either of them the ffifteene hundred pounds and odd monies which is due from him upon Bond in December next ensueing, but when and so soone and not before as hee shall fully satisfy the said bond according to the true intent and meaning thereof then the said bequests shall take place and not before Any thing in this my last will andtestament to the contrary notwithstanding

ITEM And whereas I have given by this my last will and testament to Christs Hospitall All my estate right title and interest in that house in Holbourne at the Corner of Grayes Inn lane in which M;r Spencer (the Poulterer) now lives I doe hereby revoke and utterly make void that my bequest, and I doe hereby give grant and expressly will and my mind and meaning is that the said house withall its appurtenances bee given and I doe herby give it and them to the Town and Corporacon of ?’Weekewark towards the maintenance of a Publick School there or to such other use or uses as I shall by my will or otherwise direct
