To the last hee saith hee this examinate being servant to Mr Nicholas

of the said Sandiford.

Edward Tarleton of Liverpoole Mariner, aged 30
yeeres or thereabouts sworne and examined.
To the said allegation hee saith that the producent John Sandiford as lawfull
owner a, and being in the quiet possession of the shipp the Manchester arlate put
and constituted this deponent master of her on the seaven and twentieth day
of July last, at which time this deponent tooke possession of her to the
use of the said producent, who was then owner of her and soe commonly
accounted, and this deponent hath ever since continued master of and bin in
