Biographical synthesis
John Maynard (b. ca. 1632; d. ?). Mariner.
Gunner of the ship the Mary and Anne.
Resident in 1655 in Wapping in the county of Stepney.
Evidence from High Court of Admiralty
Twenty-three year old John Maynard deposed on March 2nd 1655 in the High Court of Admiralty.[1] He was examined on an allegation in "A busines of proofe of certayne stormes which the vessell the Mary and Anne did meete in her late passage from Mallega to this Port of London in September 1654 promoted by John Greene and Company master and owners of the sayd shipp against the ffreighters".[2]
