To the Interrogatories./ [CENTRE HEADING]
To the first hee saith hee was borne in the Tower of London and hath
lived in London all his times, and otherwise saving his foregoeing
deposition hee answereth negatively
To the 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. and 7th hee saith hee cannot Answer thereto, this deponent
neitherbeing in the voyage nor acquainted with the parties interrogated
nor privie to the lading in question, otherwise then as aforesaid,
referring himselfe to his foregoeing deposition./.
To the 8th and 9th hee referreth himselfe to the said Pollicie of
Assurance, And to his foregoeing deposition, And otherwise he
cannot depose./.
To the 10th hee cannot depose saving as aforesaid./.
To the last hee answereth, that hee doth not knowe, any one named
William [?Gana], And otherwise hee cannot Answer for hee never
saw any of the goods that are claimed./.

36 yeares or thereabouts sworne and examined.
To the first article of the said allegation hee saith and deposeth that
in or about the beginning of March last newe stile hee this deponent
being at Amsterdam was there hired by one mr La gard a merchant
there dwelling to goe to Saint Malo's to the shipp the Crosse of
Jerusalem, (which hee said was lying at Saint Malo's) and to goe
gunner of her from thence in a voyage for Spaine, whereupon this
deponent went accordingly to the said shipp to Saint Malo's and there
arived on the 7th of Aprill next following or thereabouts new stile
and there hee saith the said shipp received and took in her lading
of pack goods and fatts and others and departed thence for Spaine
on or about the first of July, and meeting with
contrary wind shee put into Br[?ihat], and afterwards proceeded
thence and on or about the nineteenth of July aforesaid (new stile)
shee was met with and seized by the frigot of this commonwealth
named the Sisters, and saith that all the lading that was
aboard the said shipp at the time of her said seizure was taken
in at the said port of Saint Malo's, whither hee saith shee was to
have retourned againe, where hee saith shee was to receive order
