from Oastend to his said ffactors at Cadiz severall quantities of Rysells
stuffs, fflander lace and linnen and other Commodities to a very great valeu
with order to his said ffactors to make him returnes thereof in silver, and
moneys And further saving his foregoing deponsition hee saith hee cannot depose.
To the 15th hee referreth to his foregoing deposition. And otherwise cannot depose.
To the 16th hee saith hee this deponent is an Antwerp borne, and dwelleth
there, And otherwise negatively.
To the 17th 18. and 19th hee saith hee knoweth nothing thereof saving
his foregoing deposition to which hee referreth.
To the 20th hee referreth himselfe to his foregoing deposition.
To the 21th negatively, And otherwise cannot depose.
To the 22th negatively, And otherwise cannot depose.
To the 23th & 24th hee referreth himselfe to his foregoing deposition, And otherwise
cannot depose, saving that this deponent saw a letter which with the bills of
ladeing predeposed was sent by the said producent after the seizure of
the said shipps to his Correspondent here in England, to be made use of
in the reclayming of the said moneys.
To the 25th 26. 27. and 28. hee saith that saving his foregoing deposition
hee cannot depose, not being at Cadiz at such time, as the transactions
interrate were there had and done concerning the lading aforesaid.
To the Interrogatories in the 2. place [CENTRE HEADING]
To the first and second Interrogatories in the second place hee saith
and deposeth, That having never been in Spaine, and thereby
utterly unacquainted with the Lawes of that Nation, hee knoweth
nothing of the prohibition of the transportation of sylver from theure,
otherwise then by report onely, and saith it is, and hath been usuall
for Merchants so long as this deponent can remember, to receive returnes
of silver and moneys from thence, notwithstanding any such prohibition.
And otherwise cannot depose.
