IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN The twelveth day of Aprill in the yere of our Lord god one Thousand six Hundred sixtie and one And in the Thirteenth yere of the Reigne of our Soveraigne Lord Charles by the grace of god King of England Scotland ffrance and Ireland defender of the faith x:r I James Moyer of London Merchant being weake in body but of perfect memory make and ordaine this my last will and testament as followeth
FFIRST I bequeath my soulre into the hands of Almighty god, And my body to the Earth to be decently buried att such place as I shall give order to my executors hereafter named, in hope of a joyfull resurrection at the last day when soule and body being untited XXXX then I shall through the merritts and by merritts of my blessed saviour Christ Hesus obtayne remission of my sinnes, and be made partaker of ever lasting life.
And concerning such estate as it hath pleased almighty god to blesse me withall in this world I give and bequeath the same in manner following
FIRST I give and bequeath all my coppihold and customarie messuages lands Tenements and hereditaments whatsoever with thappurtenances in Eastwood or elsewhere in the County of Essex unto my lving brother Lawrence Moyer of Low Leighton in the Countie of Essex esquire for terme of his naturall life, And for that he hath noe child I give and bequeath the said messuages lands tenements and hereditaments with thappurtenances after the decease of my said brother Lawrence Moyer unto my Nephew Lawrence Moyer sonne of my brother Samuell Moyer and his heires forever
ITEM I give and bequeath to my loving mother M:rs Lydia Moyer the summe of two hundred pounds of lawfull English money to be paid within one yere next after my decease which my will and minde is my mother shall have the use & benefitt of dureing her life and after her decease I give and bequeath the said two hundred pounds unto my nephew Samuell Moyer the other sonne of my said

ITEM I give unto my mother tenne pounds to buy her mourning Likewise I give to my brother Lawrence Moyer and his wife the said like somme of tenne pounds a piece to buy them mourning,
ITEM I give and bequeath to my brother Samuell Moyer tenne pounds to buy him mourning
ITEM I give and bequeath to my brother William Moyer the debt which is oweing to mee by M:r James ??Wishe Alsoe I give unto my aid brother William Moyer and to his wife tenne poinds a peece to buy them mourning
ITEM I give and bequeath to my brother in lawe Captaine Nicholas Hurlston and to my sister his wife tenne pounds a peece to buy them mourning
ITEM I give and bequeath to my cozen Nicholas Hurlston sonne of my brother in law Captaine Nicholas Hurlston the somme of fiftie pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid unto him at his age of one and twenty yeres, And in the meane tyme to be imployed by my executors for his best advantage, And if he happen to dye before that age, then I give and bequeath the summe unto his brother Richard Hurlston to be paid unto him at his said age of one and twenty yeres, and to be imployed till then for his use and benefitt
ITEM I give and bequeath to my said Cousin Richard Hurlston the somme of fiftie pounds of lawfull mony of England to be paid unto him at his said age of one and twenty yeres and in the meane tyme to be imployed for his best advantage And if he happen to dye before that age Then I give and bequeath the said one hundred pounds to his brother Nicholas Hurlston to be paid unto him at his age of one and twenty yeres, and till then to beymployed for his benefitt
ITEM I give and bequeath to my Cousins Lydia Hurlston Rebecca Hurlston Sarah Hurlston and Elizabeth Hurlston daughters of my said brother and sister Hurlston the somme of one hundred pounds a peece That is to say, To every one of them one hundred pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid unto them at their severall & respective ages of one and twenty yeres or dayes of marriage which first shall happen, And till then to be imployed by my executors for their best benefit and advanatge. And if any of them happen to dye before her said age of one and twenty years or daye of marriage then give the legacie of her soe deceasing unto and amongst the survivors of them equally to be paid together with their said legacie, and to be imployed as aforesaid
ITEM I give and bequeath to my Cousin Gilbert Roope and my Cousin Anna his wife five pounds a peece to buy each of them a Ring
