Ad 5um. affirmat, That in or about the moneth of November<br />
1644. when as the said shippe the ''Discovery'' was bounde<br />
out to sea uppon a voyage, this examinate and the arlate<br />
Gregory Clement, and Captaine Robert Moulton the elder<br />
had a meeting togeather, and then and there this examinate<br />
brought in to them the accompts and the severall bills<br />
of the chardge of setting fourth of the said shipp<br />
for that voyage, which was cast upp and allowed by them,<br />
and the said Gregory Clement then undertooke and<br />
promissed to pay and satisfie a quarter part of that<br />
chardge declaring himselfe to bee Owner of a fourth<br />
part of that shippe excepting onely one fifth part of<br />
that fourth part of the said shippe, which hee said<br />
Maurice Thompson held with him, And this hee<br />
affirmeth uppon his oath to bee true, Et alr nescit./
