therein and wrote him a letter to that purpose which hee this deponent entred in his the said Powrteensbooke of
copies of letters. And suddenly after he sent another letter advising the said Pourteene
that hee had laded them onboard a ship Seignora del Gratia being the

Abraham Beake filius Arnolde Beake producent
annus natus 22 aut XX XXXXX testis productus

Ad primum secundum et 3:th arles deponit that the producent Arnold
Beake is his father (with whom hee hath lived for the most part of
his time) and Elias Beake his unckle, who for all the time
of his remembrance have bin merchants of and dwellers in London
(where they at present inhabit) and subiects of his Majestie and such
as have and doe drive a trade of merchandize betwixt
England and ffrance upon their owne accompt for wine, brandy and
vinager, and have yearly good quantities thereof sent them to London
from ffrance for the proper account of them the said Arnold and Elias
Beake who were and are partners in that trade and busines. And
saith that the arlate Samuel Beake is his this deponents brother
(sonne alsoe of the said Arnold) and a native of London and for the time
arlate hath bin and is the factor of the said Arnold and Elias at
Bourdeaux, and for such commonly accompted, and bought and
provided by their order and for their accompt severall greate quantities
of wine and brandy, and shipped the same off for them for London
and particularely (as by letters and documents from him) in or about
the moneth of July 1666 hee laded and caused at Bordeaux to bee
laded and put aboard the shipp ffortune of dantzicke arlate twenty
peeces of brandy marked with the first mark in the margin

and sixtie two tonns and one hogshead of wine and three tonns and
three hogsheads of vinegar of the second marke in the margin, all

to be transported in the said shipp to London and here to be [?XXX] to them
and for their accompt, which hee knoweth for that hee writeth in the
said producents Counting house and is acquainted with these transactions
frequently perusing the bookes and dispatches in those affaires and having viewed and found severall entries in the said bookes touching this particular. Et alr nescit.

Ad 4 arlum et primum schedulam annex deponit that hee verily beleeveth
the said schedule to be one of three bills of lading of one tenor signed by the said [?XXX] for
the said goods, for that hee knoweth the hand writing of the filling
it to be the hand of one of the said Samuel his servants, and to his
remembrance and as hee taketh it hee sawe it when it came from the said Samuel
to his said father, and saith hee is assured of the truth of the contents
thereof Et alr nescit
