that they were all dutch men, and all subiects of the States of the United
Netherlands.

To the 17 negatively, saving that this deponent had a quantitie of oranges
and lemmons aboard, and a fatt of tentwine at the time of the seizure.

To the 18 hee saith his said vessell is of the burthen of 38 or 40 lasts
or thereabouts, and otherwise hee cannot answer, saving as aforesaid.

To the 19th negatively.

To the 20th hee saith that the brokers and factors that brought the said
bills of lading to be signed, had two of each partie or parcell back againe. And
otherwise hee cannot depose.

The claime of Richard Pistus English Merchant}
for six hundred peeces of eight lately seized}
in the Sampson of Saint Malo's}

Boone dt.

Hanibal Allin of the parish of Saint Mary
Aldermanbury London Merchant aged 31 yeeres
or thereabouts sworne and examined.

To the first article hee saith and deposeth that hee well knoweth the
producent Richard Pistus and soe hath donne for theise sixe yeares last
or thereabouts, during the which space this deponent hath had acquaintance
and conversation with him in Spaine, and for three yeares last of that time
hee the said Pistus lived in Cadiz the place of this deponents residence
till lately that hee came thence; and saith the said
Richard was and is an Englishman and for such commonly accompted and
reputed, and a subiect of this Commonwealth, and being soe an
Englishman, hee hath as this deponent hath bin informed suffered in
the late Sequestration made upon the English in Spaine, this deponent
comming thence a little before the said sequestration. And otherwise hee
cannot depose.

To the Interrogatories. [CENTRE HEADING]

To the first hee saith the said Richard Pistus is in his this deponents estimation
of about 32 yeeres of age, but this deponent did not knowe his father or
mother, nor knoweth where hee was borne in England, but well knoweth
his brother an Englishman, late supra cargo of a shipp of England
named the Princesse, lately seized in Malaga Roade by the Spaniards.
And saith the said Richard Pistus is a batchelour, and otherwise cannot
depose, saving hee beleeveth the said Richard is still at Cadiz and under
restraint there as an Englishman.

To the second hee saith hee last sawe the said Richard at Cadiz on the
12th of June last newe stile, being the day of this deponents comming thence,
And otherwise hee cannot answer.

To the third hee saith hee this deponent is a native of [?Elam] in kent, and hath lived to and
againe in Spaine seaventeene yeares last, and otherwise negatively
