Transcription

To the 25th hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing deposition
And otherwise cannot depose.

To the 24. and 25th hee saith that hee for his part doeth not
knowe the lawes of Spania touching the matter interrogated but saith
that of his owne propper knowledge money plate and Bullion
hath bin and is usually laden and bought from Spania to
fflanders without interuption or let that ever this deponent sawe. And
further cannot depose.

of the shippe the Morning Starre aged [BLANK IN MANUSCRIPT] yeares
or thereabouts sworne and Examined. deposeth.

To the first second third and fowerth articles of the said Allegation
and the schedule in the said third and 4th articles mentioned hee
saith and deposeth That in the moneth of January last past
there was at Cadiz in Spaine laden on bord the ship the Morning
Starre arlate whereof this deponent then was and now is Commander by the
factors and correspondents of the producents Corneluis and Henry

weighing together 587. markes and 5 ounces Allsoe one barre of silver
weighing one hundred and nineteene markes and 6. ounces. marked A. and numbred
as in the margent to bee from thence transported in the said shippe
to Dunquirke where the same was and is consigned to bee delivered
to them the same producents or their Assignes for their proper
riscoe and accompt which hee knoweth to bee true hee this deponent when
the said moneys was soe laden being Commander of the said ship
did give order to Garrett Martens his then Purser and his precontest
Lucas Wa[?dde] to receave the same and upon Notice from them of the ladeing
thereof did signe bills of ladeing for the same accordingly. And
further cannot depose saveing that upon such the ladeing of the said
Plate and silver on bord the said ship ffrancisco de Alarero and ffrancisco
Antonio [?Neimans] the laders thereof did tell this deponent that the same
and every part thereof was by them laden for the propper account and riscoe of the
said Cornelius and Henry Hillewerven who were and are accompted fflandrians
by birth and Merchants of Antwerpe. And further cannot depose
