  • Replace 'This is the footnote text' with the footnote you wish to add, using the format: first name, surname, title, (place of publication, date of publication), page or folio number
  • Save the page

Transcription

Master of her and tooke upon himselfe care
charge and government of the said
shipp to saile or bring her home for
England and not otherwise, and for
the rest of the said position hee ref
reth himselfe to the Records of this
Court which hee beleeveth to bee true
And otherwise hee doeth not beleeve
the said pretensed position to bee true in
any parte

To the 5th pretensed position hee answereth
and beleeveth that within the time arlate
the arlate shipp the Jonathan and
Abigall did departe and set saile from
Carlile Bay in the Barbadoes and safely
arrived in this porte of London and
since the arrivall of the said shipp the
Jonathan and Abigall in this port of
London all the goods wares and mer
chandizes which were onboard her
at such time as this respondent came
to bee Master of her and all such as were
laden aboard her att the Barbadoes
the voyadge in question as hee beleeveth
and especially the goods arlate were by
this respondent and his Company deli
vered out of the said shippe into lighters
sent by the owners of the said goods or
theire Assignes to receive the same and
noe parte of the same were nor was
detained by this respondent or any of
the rest of the Company of the said
shippe as hee beleeveth And other
wise hee doeth not beleeve the said pretensed
position to bee true in any parte
