  • Insert immediately after the sentence or phrase you wish to annotate the following macro:<ref>This is the footnote text</ref>
  • Replace 'This is the footnote text' with the footnote you wish to add, using the format: first name, surname, title, (place of publication, date of publication), page or folio number
  • Save the page

said shipp and swore that they should
not goe in the shipp But if in case the
said Atkinson had paid the said Parris
and hohnewood theire wages thse Re=
spondents would have proceeded on a second
voyadge And otherwise they doe not beleeve
the said position to bee true in any parte
thereof

To the fourth pretensed position they answer
and beleeve and every of them answereth
and beleeveth that these rendents sould
the foresaid negroe att the Barbadoes
for the value of 25 li legalis monete Anglia
and noe more ut credit And otherwise
they doe not beleeve the said position to bee
true in any parte thereof

To the 5th pretensed position they answer and beleeve
and either of them answereth and beleeveth
that after such time as the said Atkinson
had turned these Rendents out of the said shipp
these Rendents did cause the said Atkinson
to bee warned in before the Governour
of the Barbadoes for Three pounds which
this Rendent John hohnewood did lend the
said Atkinson for the shipps use at Plimouth
which monies the said Governour did order
the said Atkinson to pay but the said Atkinson
never paid the said monies neither
would hee obey the said Governours order
And otherwise they doe not beleeve the
said position to bee true in any parte
thereof./
