  • Go into edit mode
  • Insert immediately after the sentence or phrase you wish to annotate the following macro:<ref>This is the footnote text</ref>
  • Replace 'This is the footnote text' with the footnote you wish to add, using the format: first name, surname, title, (place of publication, date of publication), page or folio number
  • Save the page

dureing which time these Rendents and
the rest of the Company of the Ulisses
continued att theire respective Quarters
in readines to have fought if the said
Wilson had given the word but the said
ffrenchman of warre did not shoote
att the Ulisses neither did the said
Wilson give any order to his Company
or any of them as they beleeve to shoote
or fight but caused the Boate of the
said shippe the Ulisses to be hoisted
out and first sent his purser onboard
the said ffrenchman to see what they were
and afterwards went onboard her him
selfe where hee continued feasteing and
makeing merry as longe as hee pleased
but had noethinge att all taken from him
by the said ffrenchman or his Company
as they beleeve And otherwise they nor
either of them beleeve the said pretensed
position to bee true in any parte thereof

To the third pretensed position they answered
and beleeve and either of them beleeveth
that the last porte of discharge which the
said shipp the Ulisses made the voyadge
in question was att Zant and the last of
her ladeinge was not discharged there
untill about the 15th of August 1650 last
past And otherwise they nor either of
them beleeve the said pretensed position to
bee true in any parte/

To the 4th pretensed position they answer and
beleeve and each of them beleeveth
that the said Wilson hath paid these rendents
and the rest of the parties agent in this
