  • Go into edit mode
  • Insert immediately after the sentence or phrase you wish to annotate the following macro:<ref>This is the footnote text</ref>
  • Replace 'This is the footnote text' with the footnote you wish to add, using the format: first name, surname, title, (place of publication, date of publication), page or folio number
  • Save the page

Transcription

each Cantarr of Messina or Lepora weight doth
containe 166 li English And soe much is
accounted amongst English merchants and
soe much this rendent beleeveth hee hath
confessed And that 459 Cantarrs at 777
pound weight to a Cantarr at 20 li to a
tonne doth make 36 1/4 tonnes and that
after the rate of three pounds ten shillings
per tonne the freight of 36 1/4 tonnes
doth amount to 126: li: 17: s 6: d which was the
quantitye that this rendents goods should
have made out here in case the said Warren
or his company had not abused the same
but at the delivery of the same here in
England the same did not make out at the
rate aforesaid above the quantitye of
thirty two tonnes and a halfe soe that this
rendent doth want of his goods laden the
number of 3: 3/4 tonnes which were worth
and would have yeilded this respondent
the summe of 116: li 5: s in case they had
bine delivered to this rendent, And
otherwise for his parte hee doth not beleeve
the said position to bee true in any parte.
