==Evidence from High Court of Admiralty==
Twenty year old Thomas Shute deposed on November 11th 1659 in the High Court of Admiralty.<ref>[[HCA 13/73 f.405v Annotate|HCA 13/73 f.405v]]</ref> He was examined on an allegation on behalf of Thomson, Barker, Shawe and Cope in teh cause of "Edward Thomson Thomas Barker George Shawe, and William Cope of the ship the ''House of ffreindship' from Nicholas Treworghey was master and against William Loefeild and Company coming in for their interest".<ref>[[HCA 13/73 f.403r Annotate|HCA 13/73 f.403r]]</ref>

The case concerned the supply of various goods and materials to the ship the ''House of ffreindship'' (Master: Nicholas Treworghy), including the supply of beer from Mr Barker's brewhouse in Shadwell in early 1657.

Thomas Shute was clerk to the brewhouse and confirmed that the schedule of beer attached to the allegation was correct. He said that "Thomas Barker and did oftentimes come to the said Barkers brewhouse in Shadwell to hasten the delivery of it, and gave order to this deponent (who was then clerke to the said brewhouse to send the same on board the said ship, as he sent boates for it".<ref>[[HCA 13/73 f.405v Annotate|HCA 13/73 f.405v]]</ref>
