Richard Cawthorne (b. ca. 1629; d. ?). Stationer.

Resident in 1655 in th eparish of Saint Mildred Bread Street (descibed in the deposition as Saint Mildreds in the Poultry). Had been resident in that parish for the last 11 years, since ca. 1644.<ref>[[HCA 13/70 f.596v Annotate|HCA 13/70 f.596v]]</ref>

==Evidence from High Court of Admiralty==
Thirty-six year old Richard Cawthorne deposed on September 14th 1655 in the High Court of Admiralty. He was examined on a libel in the case pof "Complaine against Brandlin and others".<ref>[[HCA 13/70 f.596v Annotate|HCA 13/70 f.596v]]</ref>

Cawthorne stated that he knew Titus Complaine, the producent, well, and that Complaine had been Cawthorne's customer for "stationary=wares" for many years. On October 15th 1652 Complaine had bought paper worth £2-12-4d. The paper was packed up at Complaine's order and sent by Cawthorne to the shop of a tobacconist named John Appleton, who was resident in Cornhill, London, to be sent with other goods on a ship for Ipswich, where Complaine was resident.<ref>[[HCA 13/70 f.596v Annotate|HCA 13/70 f.596v]]</ref>
