IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN the nyne and twentieth day of January in the yeare of our Lord God accordinge to the commentacon [CHECK SPELLING] of the Church of England one thousand six hundred forty and seaven And the three and twentieth yeare of the raigne of our soveraigne Lord Charles by grace of God Kinge of England Scotland ffrance and Ireland defender of the faith x:r I Peter Hassard citizen and ffishmonger of London being at this psent under some infirmity of body but of sound and perfect mind and memory (thanks be to God) consideringe the certaintie of death and the uncertaintie of the time thereof, doe now therefore make and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme followinge that xx xxx soe

FFIRST I comitt my soule to God my Creat:r hopinge to be saved by his mercy in the merritts of the Lord Jesus Christ And for my body when it shall please God to take me out of this mortall life my desire is that it may be decently buriedin the parish Church of Peters in Cornehill in London at the upper end of the middle Isle their where my first wife was buried about fourteene yeares past,

And as touching such xxx personall estate as God in his mercie hath bestowed on mee I dispose the same as followes

I will that all such debts as I shall truely owe at the time of my decease shalbe duely paid within convenient time next after my death And my debts being paid and my funerall discharged I will that my personall estate shall accordingeto the ancient and laudable custom of the Cittie of London be devided into three equall parts and porcons One third part thereof I give and bequeath unto my wife Alice to her owne proper use and behoofe One other third part thereof I give and bequeath unto my tow daughters Mary and Sarah Hassard equally betweene them to be devided

The other third part thereof I reserve to my selfe and dispose thereof as followeth Whereas I am now possessed and interested of and in a Lease for divers yeares yet to come of and in a Messuage or Tenement w:ch XXXXXXXXXXX scituate in Breadstreete in London wherein my brother Rowland hertofore dwelt and by me and my wife now letten to M:r Thomas Hussey of London Grocer I now give and bequeath the lease rent and profitts of the same Messuage or Tenement over and above the rent payable to the Landlord of whome I hould the same unto the said Alice my lovinge wife towards her better maintenance soo and duringe soo longe time of the tearme as therein shalbe to com & at the time of my decease (w:ch is now about Tenn yeares) as she the same Alice shall have on to live, And if she happen to dye and depart the mortall life before such timeas the remainder as the tearme I nowe have to come in the said Messuage or Tenement shalbe fully expressed Then I give and bequeath the lease rents and profitts of the same Messuage or Tenement unto the said Mary my daughter for her better maintenance for and duringe soe longe time therein yet to come as at the time of the decease of Alice my wife shalbe to come and unexpired as the said Mary my daughter shall happen to live And if the said Mary shall happen to dye or depart this mortall life after the decease of the said Alice my wife before the expiration of the said tearme, Then I give and bequeath the lease rents and profitts of the same Messuage or Tenement unto the said Sarah Hassard my daughter for her better maintenance for and duringe the remainder of the tearme w:ch then shalbe therein to come an unexpired at such decease of the said Mary Item I give and bequeath unto the said Alice my lovinge wife all such rings, and Jewells as she now hath or shall have at the time of my decease,

The rest and residue of all and singuler my goods, chattells and personall estate whatsoever herein not bequeathed, my debts being paid and my funerall discharged I give and bequeath unto the said Mary and Sarah my daughters equally betweene them to be devided.

And I ordaine and make my two sonns in lawe Mr. Stephen White and Mr. Richard Wollaston citizens of London Executo:rs of this my last Will and Testam:t in trust for the benefit of the said Mary and Sarah Hassard my daughters.

And whereas I am seized in fee simple to me and my heires forever of and in the Moyety of one Messuage or Tenement w:th all and singular the premises wherein I now dwell scituat and being in Lothburie in London, w:ch moyety of the said Messuage or Tenem:t is charged w:th an Annuity or yearly sume of Tenn pounds and fifteene shillings of lawfull money of England toward the maintenance of a Lecture in the Parish Church of Peter in Cornehill London duringe the continuance of the same Lecture there I now give and bequeathmy one moyety of the Messuage or Tenem:t aforesaid w:th the premises unto my two daughters Mary Hassard and Sarah Hassard and there heires forever equally. Nevertheless my meaning is that the said Alice my wife shall have such Dower or Thirds in the same Messuage or Tenement duringe her naturall life as by the Lawe of the Realme to her appartaineth And I revoke all former Wills and Testaments by me at any time heretofore made willinge theis xxxx and none other to stand and be reputed for and as my last Will and Testament In witnes whereof I the said Peter Hasard have to every lease of this my last Will and Testament (conteyned in three sheets of paper) subscribed my name and have hereunto set my seale the day and yeare first above written
