==Biographical synthesis==
Lovewell Luckett (alt. Love Lucket) (b. ca. 1635; d. ca.1666). Mariner.

Resident in the parish of Saint Olave Southwark in 1657.

"Love Luckett" is recorded in the 1666 Surrey hearth tax records for Bermondsey with property of four hearths.

There is also a postmortem inventory for "Lovewell Lucket" of Redriffe, Surrey, dated August 3rd 1666<ref>PROB 4/2965 Lucket, Lovewell, of Redriffe, Surrey 1666 3 Aug</ref>

==Evidence from High Court of Admiralty==
Twenty-two year old Lovewell Luckett deposed on February 3rd 1657.<ref>[[HCA 13/71 f.578r Annotate|HCA 13/71 f.578r]]</ref> He deposed on an allegation on behalf of Gosling in the case of "Batson against Gosling".

The case concerned a commercially unsuccessful whaling voyage to Spitzbergen, which had been financed by Richard Batson and others. Edward Gosling was one of the master's mates of the ship the ''Owners Adventure''.

Luckett stated that he was one of the company of the ''Owners Adventure'' and had "the halfe stereage of a harponeeres shallop belonging to the sayd shipp committed to his care by the order and appointment of the sayd Damerell" (the master of the ''Owners Adventure'').<ref>[[HCA 13/71 f.578r Annotate|HCA 13/71 f.578r]]</ref>
