Twenty-two year old John Rayment deposed on April 27th 1658 in the High Court of Admiralty.<ref>[[HCA 13/72 f.322v Annotate|HCA 13/72 f.322v]]</ref> He was examined on a libel on behalf of the ropemaker Edward Bartlet in the cause of "Edward Bartlet against the ship called the ''Edward'' of London whereof Richard Stevens was master and against Richard Rooke and Company interveyning for their interest".<ref>[[HCA 13/72 f.322r Annotate|HCA 13/72 f.322r]]</ref>
