==Evidence from High Court of Admiralty==
Twenty-three year old Henry Mayne deposed on November 11th 1656 in the High Court of Admiralty. He was examined on a libel in the cause of "Hopwood and others against the ''Stambeline'' and Hill".<ref>[[HCA 13/71 f.409r Annotate|HCA 13/71 f.409r]]</ref>

The case concerned delivery of goods and materials to the ship the ''Stamboline'' (Master: Captaine John Case) by a variety of suppliers.

Henry Mayne stated that the goods and materials listed on a schedule attached to the allegation were supplied in April 1654 by Edward Hopwood for use on the ship the ''Stambeline''. Mayne effected the delivery, being the servant of Hopwood. The delivery was made "at and from his warehouse at Redriff wall to and for the use and furniture of the said shipp the ''Stambeline'' then out lying near the said warehouse". The ''Stamboline'' at that time. Henry Mayne was certain of "the premisses touching the said delivery, with the particulars and prizes hee is the better able (as hee saith) to depose for that hee as servant to his said master delivered them as aforesaid, and made entrie thereof in his masters debt booke, which hee hath lately perused, and hath taken a note thereout agreeing with the said schedule".<ref>[[HCA 13/71 f.409v Annotate|HCA 13/71 f.409v]]</ref>

[[John Casse|Captaine John Casse (alt. Case)]], the forty-six year old former master and commander of the ''Stambeline'' (alt. ''Stamboline''), gave his residence as the parish of Saint Olave Southwark, when he deposed in the same case on November 7th 1658. In his evidence he recited the precise amounts owing for delivery of goods and materials from the litigating suppliers and aacknowledged that the goods and materials had been delivered.<ref>[[HCA 13/71 f.407v Annotate|HCA 13/71 f.407v]]</ref>
