|Transcription=keepes a house and family and is a merchant trading in
lemon and other merchandizes which he deposeth, himselfe
living in Cadiz and having good acquaintance with the
sayd Carrero
To the last he saith his deposition is true

To the Crosse Interrogatories

To the 1 Interrogatorie. The XXXend saith he is a Spaniard borne and
for 14 yeares last hath lived in Cadiz, and was a passenger
on board the ''Three Kings'' att the tyme of her seizure. and
othewise negatively.
To the 2. he saith he knoweth both the persons interrogated and hath knowne
them to say Lowy Carrero 4 or 5. yeares and William ?ClavioXXX or
Claviell 9. monethes and saith hee saw the sayd Claviell att S:t
Mallo and in board y:e ''Three Kings'', and was often in his Company
att Saint Mallo whilest the sayd shipps companie XXX this voyage
and otherwise canot depose, the says Carrero being then att
Cadiz
To the 3. hee saith the sayd Carrero is a Spaniard. and the sayd
Claviol is a french man and lived in Saint Mallo in September and
October last with his [Blank in manuscript] family. and referring
to his foregoeing depositions cannot further depose saving
that the sayd Carrero for all the tyme that this XXXXX
hath knowne him hath lived with his wife and family in Cadiz
and by report many yeares before
To the 4th he saith he saw part the sayd goods bought or payd for
and further saving as aforesayd cannot depose.
To the 5th he referreth to his foregoing depositions and further cannot
depose
To the 6th negatively.
To the 7th he saith he knoweth nothing thereof
To the 8th he saith he was att Saint Mallo at ythe tyme the sayd goods were
laden, and knoweth for whose accompte severall parcells of goods
were éaden on board y:e shipps interrte, but the parcells being
many and markes diverse and he having not any papers
or memoriall by him att present to assist his memory he
cannot sett forth all that particulars, but referreth him selfe to the
depositions made in several Claymes of his freinds and
acquaintance remaining in the Repository of this Court. and
comes to know of this pticular parcell for the reasons aforesad
and now to have paricular remembrance of the foresayd ?passage
upon discourse with seignieur ffernando Carvajall who
demanding of the XXXdent concerning his passgae to Saint Mallo
and of some hidds laden in the ''Saint Vincent'' by Raphall da Luna
consigned to the sayd Clayior or Chavior XXXXed in this XXXX
the remembrance of the foregoeing passages touching three
of thee bales now claymed. And further cannot depose

To the 9th he saith he was in the shipp ''Three Kings'', when she was
seized which her seizure happened in or rather after a fight, w:th
and English shipp had made, and the ''Saint John da grace'' did fight
3 or 4 ?hours with the English shipp being the ''XXXX frigatt''
but the ''Three Kings'' fought not att all.
