Francis Gittings (b. ca. 1635; d.?). Described in the preamble of the deposition as a cooper, but in the text as a winecooper.

==Evidence from High Court of Admiralty==
Twenty year old Francis Gittings deposed on July 24th 1655 in the High Court of Admiralty. Gittings was examined on a libel in the case of "Travers against Pomeroy and against lighter of about 200 tunns whereof the sayd Pomroy is owner and against any other".<ref>[[HCA 13/70 f.402r Annotate|HCA 13/70 f.402r]]</ref>

Gittings states that he was employed by Gyles Travers, a London merchant, as a winecooper to assist in the unloading of wine into a lighter.<ref>[[HCA 13/70 f.402v Annotate|HCA 13/70 f.402v]]</ref>
