Andrew Harris (b. ca. 1624; d. ?). Mariner.

Master of an unnamed ship ("He is a mariner, and hath bin master of a vessell these 7 yeares past").<ref>[[HCA 13/70 f.563r Annotate|HCA 13/70 f.563r]]</ref>

Owner of a one sixteenth part of the ship the ''Dolphin'' of Sandwich (Master: John Grannt), which was used to transport coal from Newcastle to Sandwich, and probably to other coastal ports, both in England and in France and the United Provinces.

Resident in 1656 in Sandwich in the county of Kent.

==Evidence from High Court of Admiralty==
Thirty-two year old Andrew Harris deposed on January 16th 1656 in the High Court of Admiralty.<ref>[[HCA 13/70 f.563r Annotate|HCA 13/70 f.563r]]</ref> He was examined on a libel in the cause of "John Grant against Mathew Pinder".<ref>[[HCA 13/70 f.561r Annotate|HCA 13/70 f.561r]]</ref>

The case concerned the arrest of the ship the ''Elizabeth'' of Sandwich, whose master, John Grant or Grannt, was also a one eighth owner of the ship and her lading of coals.The ship had been arrested at the order of Mathew Pinder (alt. Pindar), and Andrew Harris deposed in support of John Grannt. Harris declared his own interest in teh case, since he himself owned a one sixteenth part of the ''Elizabeth''.

Andrew Harris estimated the value of the lading of Newcastle coals which had been seized with the ship at £80. He suggested that John Grannt had lost £20 "which he might have gott by going master of the said shipp, had he not bin kept out of possession of her by the arlate Pindar" and had lost a further £10, being one igth of the value of the lading of coal".<ref>[[HCA 13/70 f.563r Annotate|HCA 13/70 f.563r]]</ref>

Harris commented that some seven or eight weeks after being dispossessed of his ship, John Grannt had sold his own spart of the ''Elizabeth'', with one sixteenth part going to William Hills and the other one sixteenth part going to Valentine Jenkins.<ref>[[HCA 13/70 f.563r Annotate|HCA 13/70 f.563r]]</ref>
